Thank you Park City.png

A love letter
The Park Record

Park City: I love you now even more than before. I am so deeply moved by your kindness. Thank you.

When I entered the race for City Council, I expected to meet people, have meaningful conversations, and learn more about issues. I could never have anticipated how profoundly this journey would strengthen my affection for Park City and the people who make it such a magical place to live.

I’ve connected with hundreds of Parkites: in cafes, on benches, at community gatherings and roundtables, in living rooms, on back porches and front porches, and during scenic chairlifts. I answered barrages of questions and admitted (many times) when I didn’t have answers. I addressed challenges directly and respectfully, and told lots of jokes that didn’t land (plus a couple that did).

I also completed all of the above while speaking into a microphone in rooms full of people. All of it an exercise in courage for me, a writer who prefers to take notes while I hide in the back of a crowd. And all of it, an exercise in expanding my heart.

Person after person granted me time amid busy days to impart wisdom, insight and nuance. They shared stories that made me cry. Many that made me laugh. Details that made me think differently, and concerns that reminded me why an engaged community and a collaborative, respectful city council matters so much.

To city staff; mayors, city and county leaders past and present; non-profit leaders and business owners; heads of resort and educators; engaged community members and volunteers; and elders — thank you for making time to talk with me and educate me.

To those who wrote letters on my behalf, kept asking what needed to be done, donated to support the campaign, put up yard signs and wore stickers, enthusiastically hosted beautiful events — even after just meeting me! — and made time to show up at those events, thank you.

To the many kind acquaintances; fellow candidates Beth Armstrong, Danny Glasser, Ian Hartley, Tana Toly, Diego Zegarra; and perfect strangers who stood by my side and reached out to support me — thank you. Just FYI, we’re now friends for life.

To my husband and our daughter: you are the best. I’m the luckiest to get to love you — thank you.

Thanks to those who took time with me and for me, shared thoughts, expressed gratitude, and wished me good luck — I have already won the true prize: the honor of being a part of this conversation. I love you, Park City. Thank you.

Park City Council
Primary Candidate Forum

I’m honored to be endorsed by Utah’s Governing Group Political Action Committee (PAC), which advocates for collaboration, civil discourse, and practical problem-solving over divisive rhetoric.

This mission is perfectly aligned with my campaign pillars of respect, action, and community.

The Governing Group PAC was founded by former State Representative Becky Edwards in 2023. Its endorsed candidates now hold 25 offices across Utah—from the State Legislature to local city councils.

I ❤️ Park City

I am a longtime Park City resident and volunteer. I'm a mom and a member of the workforce. I listen hard and work harder - all while treating others with respect.

If entrusted to serve on the Park City Council, I promise to build bridges, collaborate, and move things forward in ways that preserve the magic of our wonderful town.

I’m not a politician.

I’m a person who knows how lucky I am to live here. I love Park City. And I know it wasn’t luck that created it: Park City exists thanks to the leaders past who took thoughtful, strategic action to transform a former mining town into a world-class mountain destination.

Park City’s challenges aren’t new. They are growing. And right now, there is a small window in which Park City can take steps to ensure its next iteration unfolds in a way that is just as thoughtful and strategic as the action taken in decades past.

Park City staff, past council members, and mayors have spent years working on possible solutions. It's past time to take action on their careful work, but that will not happen with the current makeup of the Park City Council. A lack of respect and unity has the entire Council (and our community) treading stagnant water.

Park City deserves a team that loves the community and serves it with good intent. A group that invests the effort required to grow while it preserves the alchemy of Park City. Our community deserves a City Council that functions because it works together, respects our community, and moves projects forward.

I am a longtime Park City resident, a community and school volunteer, a mom, and a boots-on-the-ground worker. I listen hard and work harder. I treat others with respect. I build bridges and collaborate. I hold people accountable and encourage people to hold me accountable. I move things forward.

I’m not a politician... but I am qualified to serve on Park City Council.

If elected, I promise to do everything in my power to ensure that Park City remains beloved by its residents, workforce, business owners, and visitors for generations to come.
